Dreams come true

Our dream project-The Silver Jubilee Academic Complex-becomes a reality. It was the dram of TMCAA to build and donate an academic complex, which can host various academic and other gatherings in the campus. On 23rd December Health Minister Mrs Sreemathy teacher inaugurated the Academic complex built and donated by us. Sri PR Rajan MP Inaugurated the seminar Halls named “Haritam “and “Indraneelam”. The Complex includes one main hall named “Rajatham” – to commemorate silver jubilee, which can seat 1000 and two seminar halls, which can seat 200 each. During the Inaugural speech Minister said TMCAA is showing examples by supporting the Alma matter in a fitting manner, by completing it in just 9 months spending just 1.6 crores.

This project was conceptualised by the association in 2002 as a dream to fulfil the dream of having an auditorium in the college. This was an unmet demand from the early years of the College being neglected by the authorities’ years after years. Even though now our college has about 1000students excluding the paramedical students we don’t have place all of us can gather for any reason. The fund for this project was entirely from the Continuing Medical Education program, which is considered the best of this kind in India.

Learning Resource center is another Gurudakshina from the Association. This Center fulfils the need for a place where our teachers and students retrieve information electronically round the clock. This center is equipped with 15 computers with internet facility and we plan to subscribe large number of journals and other resources.

Dr K Mohandas Vice chancellor of Kerala University of Health and Allied Sciences will inaugurate this center on 2nd January. We also plan a 2-day Continuation of Medical education program with the help of Association of Kerala Medical Graduates on 2nd and 3rd of January and Dr Usha Titus IAS (Secretary; health and Family welfare) will inaugurate this program

TMCAA is thankful to its members and all well wishers for the support they gave for fulfilling this dream.
